In this four hour lecture-style workshop, professional photographer and retoucher Mark Beckelman will cover the following:
• Four in CS4 – the four new features you must know!
• Professional RAW workflow using Bridge, Lightroom and Adobe Camera RAW
• Working with Smart Objects
• Portrait retouching techniques
• Adding drama and creative interpretation to your images
Each participant will receive before and after versions (including all layers) of many of the tutorial images shown during the event

Optional: For an additional $49, you may submit one image of your choice (or two images if you have a composite) and Mark Beckelman will spend at least 15 minutes retouching it during the lecture. Images must be sent at least one day in advance via e-mail (instructions will be sent to you).
During the lecture, Andrew Darlow, whose exhibition, GRANDmarks - NYC will be on display at Alfa Art Gallery, will spend approximately 45 minutes demonstrating a color managed printing workflow using Photoshop CS4, and he will answer questions about inkjet printing.
Following the lecture, Andrew Darlow will sign copies of his book, 301 Inkjet Tips and Techniques, and 11x14 inch poster prints of his work.

About Mark Beckelman
Mark's imaging career has spanned 30 years - as a professional photographer / digital retoucher / educator, and Adobe Certified Expert in Photoshop.
A graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology, Mark has implemented advanced digital imaging solutions for advertising, graphic design, and professional photographers. He currently teaches Advanced Imaging Techniques at the Academy of Art University, and will soon be part of the faculty of the School of Visual Arts new online Masters of Professional Studies in Digital Photography program.

About Andrew Darlow
Andrew Darlow is a photographer and consultant based in the New York City area. For over 15 years, he has consulted on the topics of digital photography, digital output, and color management. He has written and edited numerous articles and reviews on the topics of digital and fine art photography, color management, inkjet printing, and Photoshop techniques, and his work has been included in many photography publications, web sites, and books.
He has lectured and conducted seminars and workshops around the world at conferences and for photography organizations and schools, including the Arles Photo Festival, Columbia University, and the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York. His work has been widely exhibited and his prints are held in numerous private collections.

His book, "301 Inkjet Tips and Techniques: An Essential Printing Resource for Photographers," covers tips and techniques for prepping, printing and displaying prints made using inkjet printers. The book was recently chosen as the winner in the “Photography:

Parking Information
A multi-level parking lot is located across from Alfa Art Gallery on Church St. (Cost: approx. $10 for the full day). Another multi-level parking lot is located on Church St., just off of Nielson St (the road that runs in front of the New Brunswick Hyatt).
The Alfa Art Gallery is also located just a few blocks from the New Brunswick Train Station, a major transportation hub.
